Quite possibly the coolest photo of Clyde Drexler on the planet.
For some, mixed emotions were stirred during a game featuring former Trail Blazer, Steve Blake (Travis Outlaw - DNP). As a long-time fan favorite in Portland, it was good to see Blake out on the floor for 28 minutes and contribute 14pts, 6ast, 1stl and 1blk. Yet it felt a little strange to root against him. I’ve watched quite a few Clippers games since the Camby trade went down. While I love what the trade did for the Blazers, I’m still enough of a fan of Blake and Outlaw to tune-in just to see them play.
A game like today’s begs me to pause and ask a very important question: Where would the Blazers be in the Western Conference standings right now without the addition of Marcus Camby? Better? Worse? MUCH Worse?
I’d be interested to gather your thoughts.
(Notes: Not-so-fitting tonight was Marcus Camby’s hamstring pull. We all hope and pray for a speedy recovery. Big ups to LMA for his 27 & 12! (Maybe he just got a little Camby mojo on him.) In non-Blazer news, congrats to Don Nelson on his amazing accomplishment; the NBA’s winningest coach!)
That’s it! My first post-game report from the Death Star. You didn’t really think you’d get out of reading this without a Star Wars reference, did you?
Watch some highlights, younglings.
